Chapter 2: The Wedding Day

The wedding day arrived exactly as Harrison Sterling had planned.

Perfect.

Lavish.

Untouchable.

The cathedral overflowed with politicians, judges, CEOs, and socialites eager to witness the marriage of billionaire heir Julian Sterling.

Julian stood at the altar wearing a custom tuxedo and a smug smile.

Beside him sat his father.

Harrison Sterling.

The man who believed money could solve every problem.

The man who believed fear was stronger than justice.

As the organ music began, Harrison leaned toward Julian.

"See?"

He smirked.

"I told you she'd come crawling back."

Julian grinned.

Women always did.

Especially frightened women.

The congregation rose.

Everyone turned toward the entrance.

The doors slowly opened.

A figure appeared.

But it wasn't Lily.

Confused whispers spread through the church.

Julian frowned.

Because walking down the aisle was me.

Eleanor.

Dressed entirely in black.

Holding a leather briefcase.

The music stopped.

The priest looked confused.

Guests exchanged nervous glances.

Julian laughed.

"What is this?"

I continued walking.

Slowly.

Calmly.

Until I reached the altar.

Then I turned toward the audience.

And opened the briefcase.

Inside were hundreds of pages.

Documents.

Evidence.

Witness statements.

Medical reports.

Bank records.

The smile vanished from Harrison's face.

Because he recognized the seal printed on the top document.

Federal Investigation Division.

For the first time all morning...

The billionaire looked afraid.

"Who are you?" Julian demanded.

I smiled.

"A question you should have asked before hurting my sister."

Then the cathedral doors opened again.

This time dozens of federal agents entered.

The guests gasped.

Several people stood.

Others reached for their phones.

May you like

The wedding was over.

The investigation had just begun.
