Alexander didn’t raise his voice.

That was the first thing that made it terrifying.

While I hovered near the doorway, watching, he gently helped Sofia sit upright, brushing a strand of hair from her bruised face like she was still a child who had scraped her knee.

But his eyes…

They weren’t soft.

They were calculating.

“Who else was in the room?” he asked calmly.

Sofia swallowed. “Three women. I don’t know their names. They just… followed her orders.”

Alexander nodded once, committing it to memory.

“Did anyone record it?”

She hesitated—then nodded.

“One of them had a phone. I think… they wanted proof.”

That was the moment something shifted.

Proof meant leverage.

Proof meant this wasn’t just cruelty—it was a mistake.

Alexander stood up slowly, pulling out his phone. “Good,” he said under his breath. “That saves me time.”

“Time for what?” I asked, my voice tight.
