Chapter 4 - The Fall of Isabella RossiThe scandal did not merely leak; it exploded overnight with the force of a financial tsunami.

By 6:00 AM, the leaked security footage from St. Jude Medical Center had been picked up by every major media outlet from coast to coast. The headlines were merciless: "THE ROSSI HEIRESS: THE REAL FACE OF LUXURY." The raw footage of Isabella's deliberate attack on a pregnant woman went viral across social platforms, amassing tens of millions of views before the Rossi family’s legal team could even file an injunction.

Public outrage surged to an unprecedented high. Activists, shareholders, and ordinary citizens flooded the gates of the Rossi Group's headquarters.

Isabella’s family influence, which had protected her from small scandals for over a decade, could not save her from this. The footage was too clear, the victim too vulnerable, the act too inherently monstrous. By noon, institutional investors began withdrawing their capital from the shipping port merger. The Rossi stock plummeted forty percent in a matter of hours. Allies disappeared like smoke; phone calls from her father to the governor's office went straight to voicemail.

And in a cold, windowless interrogation room at the 1st Precinct, stripped of her emerald gown, her jewelry, and her glamour, Isabella finally faced reality. She sat in a standard-issue gray jumpsuit, her manicured nails biting into the metal table.

“I didn’t mean to—it was an accident,” she sobbed to the two detectives sitting across from her, her voice raw and stripped of its aristocratic veneer. “We were arguing. She tripped. The floor was slippery from the champagne—”

The lead officer cut her off, sliding a high-resolution printout of frame 412 across the table. It showed her heel directly accelerating into Khloe's midsection while Khloe was already down.

“The video says otherwise, Ms. Rossi,” the detective said coldly. “That’s aggravated assault on a pregnant victim. The district attorney isn't offering a plea. Your father’s money can’t buy out a digital record.”

Meanwhile, far away from the media circus and the flashing cameras of the courthouse, Marcus stood beside Khloe’s hospital bed in the private intensive care wing.

The room was quiet, bathed in the soft, warm light of the afternoon sun filtering through the blinds. The only sound was the steady, rhythmic beep of the vitals monitor and the soft hum of the infant incubator visible through the glass partition of the adjacent room.

Marcus didn’t speak of revenge. He didn’t need to. The world outside was dismantling the Rossi name piece by piece, but none of it mattered inside these four walls.

He leaned over the bed, his fingers gently brushing a stray lock of dark hair away from Khloe’s pale forehead. He looked at the IV lines in her arm, then over at the small, resilient boy breathing inside the incubator twenty feet away.

“I won’t let anyone hurt you again,” Marcus said quietly, his voice a solemn vow, a contract signed in the quiet of his soul that no market shift could ever invalidate. “I’m here. For everything.”
