Chapter 5: A Home Without Fear

Five years later...
The laughter of children echoed through the Aranda Foundation every morning.
The old mansion was gone.
In its place stood a bright community center surrounded by gardens, classrooms, counseling offices, and a playground where children who had once known fear now learned what safety felt like.
Valeria walked through the halls greeting every family by name.
She remembered what it felt like to believe no one would listen.
That was why everyone who entered the center heard the same words first.
"You are safe here."
Alejandro devoted much of the family fortune to funding emergency shelters, legal aid, and medical care for survivors of domestic violence.
People often praised him for his generosity.
He always answered the same way.
"I'm not generous."
"I'm simply paying a debt."
One afternoon, a frightened young woman named Isabel arrived carrying her infant daughter.
Her hands trembled as she completed the intake forms.
"I don't know if I'm doing the right thing," she whispered.
Valeria gently placed a warm cup of tea in front of her.
"The hardest decision isn't leaving."
"It's believing your life matters enough to leave."
