Chapter 6: The Boy Who Changed Everything

Their son, Gabriel, grew into a kind and curious little boy.

Unlike many children raised in privilege, he knew the purpose of every building his family owned.

"They're for helping people," he proudly told his classmates.\

One Saturday, while helping plant flowers outside the foundation, Gabriel noticed a little girl sitting alone beneath a tree.

She clutched a worn stuffed rabbit and refused to join the other children.

Gabriel quietly sat beside her.

"My mom says flowers grow better when someone talks to them."

The girl looked at him.

"Really?"

"I think people do too."

She giggled.

By the end of the afternoon, they were planting roses together.

Watching from the window, Valeria rested her head against Alejandro's shoulder.

"He didn't inherit our pain," she whispered.

Alejandro smiled.

"He inherited our compassion."

That realization was worth more than every fortune his family had ever possessed.
