Chapter 3 — After the Fall

By evening, the gold-walled living room was empty.

No guests. No music. No power.

Just silence.

Damian sat alone on the cream sofa where Elena had fallen earlier. The blood stain was still faint on the edge.

He finally understood something too late:

She had never been beneath him.

He had been standing inside her world the entire time.

Outside, a car door closed.

Elena stepped out of the building, coat over her shoulders, the city lights reflecting in her eyes.

The executive followed behind her.

“Everything is stable now,” he said. “What are your next instructions?”

She paused for a moment.

Looked at the skyline that once belonged to people like Damian.

Then said:

“Rebuild it better. Without him.”

She walked forward without looking back.

Not because she was cold.

But because she was done being underestimated.

And for the first time in a long time, Elena Voss wasn’t surviving someone else’s world—

She was rewriting it.
