Outside, a black Phantom waited beneath the mansion lights.
A driver stepped forward and bowed.
"Miss Mariana Escalonto, your father is waiting."
The world seemed to pause.
Victor, who had followed her to the doorway, froze.
Escalonto.
The name was impossible to ignore. The Escalontos were whispered about in boardrooms, feared in banking circles, and treated like royalty by governments.
Mariana entered the car without acknowledging him.
As the door closed, Victor’s phone buzzed.
