Chapter 3 – The Truth Vivian Tried to Bury

Victoria slowly removed her engagement ring.
"You knew?"
Garrett shook his head desperately.
"I swear... I didn't."
Amelia answered before anyone else could.
"He didn't."
Every guest turned toward her.
"When I discovered I was pregnant, Vivian called me into her office."
Vivian's expression froze.
"Tell them," Amelia said quietly.
Vivian remained silent.
So Amelia continued.
"She offered me ten million dollars to disappear."
Gasps echoed across the ballroom.
"When I refused, she told me she would use her lawyers, her money, and her political connections to take my babies the moment they were born."
Garrett stared at his mother.
"Tell me she's lying."
Vivian's lips trembled.
"I... was protecting this family."
"You threatened her?"
"I was protecting our name!"
Garrett stepped backward as if struck.
"My children grew up without a father because of you."
Tears filled Vivian's eyes for the first time.
"I thought I was doing what was best."
Leo quietly walked toward Garrett.
The little boy looked up.
"Were you looking for us?"
Garrett dropped to one knee.
His voice broke.
"Every day... even though I didn't know you existed."
Leo wrapped his tiny arms around him.
Within seconds, Owen and Wyatt joined the hug.
The ballroom erupted into stunned silence once again.
Even Victoria quietly wiped away a tear.
She looked at Amelia.
"You should have been standing at this altar."
Amelia smiled sadly.
"No."
She glanced at her sons.
"I'm already exactly where I belong."
Victoria removed her wedding veil.
Then she placed her engagement ring into Garrett's hand.
"This wedding is over."
May you like
Without another word, she walked away with her parents.
No one tried to stop her.
