Five years later...
The Bradford estate looked very different.
Garrett had sold most of the family's old businesses and used the money to establish the Bradford Children's Foundation, helping single parents and abandoned children receive education and medical care.
Vivian publicly admitted everything she had done.
She resigned from every charity board she served on and spent years trying to rebuild the trust she had destroyed.
Forgiveness came slowly.
But she never stopped trying.
Garrett never asked Amelia to erase the past.
Instead, he asked only one question.
"Can I spend the rest of my life making up for the years I lost?"
Amelia smiled.
"You can't replace five years."
"I know."
"But maybe we can build the next fifty."
Their relationship didn't begin with another wedding.
It began with shared breakfasts.
School pickups.
Birthday parties.
Soccer games.
Homework at the kitchen table.
The ordinary moments they had been denied.
One warm autumn afternoon, the five of them stood together watching Leo, Owen, and Wyatt race across a wide green field.
Garrett slipped his hand into Amelia's.
"They're growing too fast."
She laughed.
"They get that from you."
Nearby, Vivian sat quietly on a park bench, smiling as her grandsons ran toward her.
There was no mansion.
No reporters.
No fortune worth fighting over.
