PART 13: THE VENTURE LIQUIDATION
The aftershocks of Michael’s formal confession completely leveled the remaining corporate network associated with the family name.
At 4:00 p.m. on Friday, Clara’s former fiancé, a senior venture manager named Richard, sat inside his private office, his face completely pale as he stared at a formal default notice delivered by a courier. The document bore the official seal of Sophia's corporate legal department.
"They're calling the baseline loan, Richard," his father said, setting a legal brief down with a hard, dry click against the table. "The four million dollars you invested into the retail expansion was backed by a secondary guarantee from the NexusCore holding company's shares. Since those shares have been legally wiped out by the state receivership, the bank is executing a full collateral recovery."
Richard rubbed his face, his posture completely collapsing into his chair. "Our quarterly distribution was supposed to clear next week, Dad. The entire marketing campaign... everything was tied to that line."
"The campaign is dead, Richard," his father replied coldly. "Sophia Miller just bought the master debt portfolio this morning. She didn't just cancel the credit; she flagged your entire venture firm for an immediate compliance audit under the state financial monitoring act."

Clara burst into the private office, her face tear-stained, her phone still active in her hand. "Richard, the repo team is at my house! They're taking the vehicles! They say my personal lease was paid through a corporate card that has been flagged for grand larceny!"
The entire lifestyle they had paraded around in like they earned it was turning into nothing but a series of default notices, repossession logs, and public shame. They had spent years treating a successful woman’s asset pool like an inconvenience, and now the truth was dismantling their world line by line.
