PART 20: THE TRUE FREEDOM FINALE

PART 20: THE TRUE FREEDOM FINALE
Three months later.
The morning sun over the Greenwich estate was brilliant, reflecting off the manicured hedges and the clean, polished glass of the tall dining room windows.
Sophia stood on the stone porch, wearing a beautiful cream silk blouse and tan trousers, her hair catching the crisp morning breeze. Her face was completely healed, her features radiant with a deep, unyielding peace.
Beside her stood Mr. Peterson, carrying a sleek black leather portfolio.
"The federal receivership just finalized the asset transfer, Sophia," Peterson said, handing her the updated deed document. "The court has completely expunged Michael's name from the commercial indices. The property, the investments, and the remaining infrastructure of NexusCore have been legally consolidated under your foundation."
A moving truck was parked in the heated driveway below the steps. Two men were carefully carrying a massive walnut dining table out of the house, followed by several boxes marked ESTATE LIQUIDATION.
The television inside the guardhouse was playing the afternoon business news on mute, but the banners running across the bottom finalized the drama: MICHAEL MILLER SENTENCED TO 3 YEARS FOR CORPORATE FORGERY AND MARITAL ASSET FRAUD; ELEANOR MILLER EVICTED FOLLOWING RECOVERY LEVY.
Michael had believed that by demanding obedience through violence, he could keep his civilian wife quiet and use her inheritance to fuel his failing kingdom. He had forgotten that a woman who finances a dynasty is the same woman who can systematically erase it with a single click.

Sophia took a slow, deep breath of the clean winter air, a proud, lethal smile playing on her lips as she watched the final remnants of the Miller legacy get driven away down the private road.
The gates were wide open, the old ledger was completely balanced, and her true freedom had finally begun.
