Chapter 8 - Forging Steel.

Over the next three weeks, the abandoned warehouse became my training ground.

Marcus taught me how to strip, clean, and fire a variety of high-caliber weapons.

My mother managed our meager supplies, turning the rusty office into a makeshift command center.

My soft, manicured hands blistered and calloused from hours of hand-to-hand combat training.

"Julian fights dirty, so you have to fight dirtier," Marcus barked, sweeping my legs out from under me.

I hit the concrete hard, groaning as the impact rattled my bones.

I forced myself up, wiping sweat from my brow, and threw a vicious left hook that caught him off guard.

"Better," he grunted, rubbing his jaw with a look of genuine respect.

Every night, I studied the blueprints of Julian's corporate headquarters.

We discovered that he was laundering millions through an offshore shell company.

The ledger containing the digital keys was kept in a biometric safe in his penthouse.

"If we steal the ledger, his syndicate starves," Marcus explained, pointing at the blueprint.

"And if we corner him in the penthouse, he pays for my father," I added, chambering a round into my pistol.
