Eighteen months after activation, Northstar reviewed Ethan’s status.
He had:
Completed required criminal conditions to that stage.
No further threats.
No attempts to access trust assets improperly.
Stable employment.
Financial counseling.
Separated from Vanessa.
Written accountability statements.
The trustee did not restore everything.
But the emergency suspension ended.
What changed?
Ethan regained eligibility for ordinary discretionary beneficiary consideration under enhanced oversight.
Not business rescue money.
Not automatic monthly luxury distributions.
A modest annual support distribution resumed after review.
His voting proxy did not return.
Northstar retained it with an independent fiduciary.
Some people asked:
“Why give him anything?”
Because the trust was not a punishment machine.
Thomas had named him beneficiary.
The trustee had duties.
My anger did not rewrite them.
