Chapter 26 - THIRTY-NINE CANDLESMy thirty-ninth birthday was held at a small Italian restaurant.

No family house.
No tire irons.

Kathleen texted:
Happy birthday. Hope the knee behaves.
Naomi sent nothing.
Normal.
Amanda sent flowers.
I left them at the restaurant for staff.
Not punishment.
I simply did not want them in my house.
