PART 31: THE TOKYO DISRUPTION
The domestic registries were clean, but within three weeks of the international arbitration ruling, an anomalous code packet materialized inside the Kensington network's East Asian router matrix. A high-frequency trading firm located in the Chiyoda district of Tokyo, named Kuroda Financial, had quietly initiated a series of algorithmic micro-shorts against the Kensington AI's public manufacturing partners.
Samantha sat at her glass console, analyzing the data streams with clinical intensity. "The trades aren't designed to generate profit, Marcus," she analyzed, pointing to a recurring sequence of high-velocity market orders. "They are executing a synchronized stress-test against our automated supply-chain clearinghouse."
Marcus Vance stepped into the room, holding an un-redacted corporate family tree from the Japanese financial services agency. "I ran the background infrastructure on Kuroda Financial. The seed capital for their high-frequency trading servers was funneled through an offshore entity registered in Singapore under the personal name of Donatella Callahan’s youngest sister—Beatrice Vance."
The name introduced a hidden, venomous variable to the Asian markets. Beatrice Vance was an international hedge-fund manager who had spent twenty years operating in the unregulated grey markets of the Pacific Rim, entirely invisible to the New York courts.
"She’s trying to trigger an automated emergency freeze on our partner firms' stock liquidity before the Tokyo exchange opens on Monday," Samantha realized, her voice dropping into that terrifyingly quiet rhythm. "If the clearinghouse freezes, our microchip manufacturing lines in Asia will automatically halt production to protect their capital, causing a cascading hardware bottleneck across our global network."

"We have less than eighteen hours before the Tokyo pre-market trading session begins," Marcus warned, his jaw tight with stress. "If we don't deactivate the terminal script Beatrice is using to spoof the clearinghouse, the liquidity stall becomes permanent."
Samantha stood up, her white suit framing her tall, resolute silhouette. "Get the private flight authorization, Marcus. We’re going to Tokyo. It’s time to show Beatrice Vance what a real market correction looks like."
