The lab had been developing an open-source genomic mapping sequence designed to provide free medical data to public cancer research centers. However, the software infrastructure sat on a highly private cloud network that had suddenly experienced a severe data throttle.
"The compliance freeze was signed by a regional medical director named Arthur Vance Jr.—Arthur Vance's eldest son," Marcus Bell explained, projecting the transaction logs onto the wall monitor. "The forensic audit shows that three days before the freeze, his private medical investment firm received an anonymous transfer of four hundred thousand dollars from a healthcare holding company based in Zurich—managed by Julian Vane's old legal defense team."
Samantha’s sharp eyes narrowed into an expression of cold, absolute certainty. "They are trying to execute a final, desperate intellectual property theft, Marcus. If they can freeze the public rollout of the genomic sequence, Julian's remaining shell companies can register the software patterns privately in Switzerland, selling the medical data back to the hospitals at a premium."

"The legal deadline to challenge the medical compliance freeze is forty-eight hours from tonight," Marcus warned. "We need to file an emergency fraud petition with the federal circuit court in Boston before the corporate registration office opens on Friday morning."
"We don't need forty-eight hours, Marcus," Samantha said, her voice dropping into that quiet, terrifying rhythm. "The math is already compiled. The signatures are verified. Get the jet ready. We’re going to Boston."
