Chapter 18 - THE MAIN TRUTHIt came from Vanessa’s old laptop.

Not stolen.
Not hacked.
Produced under court order after forensic evidence showed she had handled the 2022 closing documents.
Deleted files were recovered.
One PDF was named:
EW_release_final2.pdf
E.W.
Eulalia Wren.
Metadata showed creation under Vanessa’s user profile.
The document contained the forged deed before notarization.
Another file contained a scanned image of my signature clipped from the pneumonia consent form.
A third contained a notary acknowledgment template bearing Melissa Grant’s old commission information.
There was no innocent explanation left for the preparation.
The criminal investigators took over that portion.
Then email drafts showed something else.
Vanessa had initially intended to ask me to sign.
A draft to me read:
Eulalia, the lender needs you to release the life-estate language so we can refinance. This does not mean we would ever make you leave.
She never sent it.
Why?
In a later message to herself—apparently copied from a note—she wrote:
She will say no. N says don’t push her right now.
Neftalí had said not to pressure me.
Vanessa solved the problem by removing the question.
That was the core truth.
She forged my signature because the loan could not proceed cleanly while my life estate remained.
She used a copied notary block.
Neftalí signed the refinance but did not understand at first how title had been changed.
When he discovered it later, he confronted her.
Then failed to report it immediately.
Vanessa also created the fake email used for credit accounts.
Browser history and saved credentials linked both accounts to her laptop.
She had used my identity to obtain revolving credit while household finances deteriorated.
No mastermind beyond Vanessa.
No secret organization.
No murder.
No plot to kill Neftalí.
Pressure.
Entitlement.
