Chapter 34: The Huntress in the Ice

The perimeter alarms of the Patagonia bunker shrieked at 3:00 AM.
The thermal sensors on the outer volcanic ridge showed a highly coordinated, sub-zero tactical team breaching the canyon walls. They weren't using helicopters; they were moving on foot through the blizzard, using specialized cloaking suits that disrupted the bunker's automated turrets.
Daniel bolted to the central security monitors, his Glock drawn. "Tomás! We have company. Wake up!"
No response.
Daniel ran down the concrete corridor toward his brother’s quarters. The door was wide open. The room was empty, save for a single, customized tactical knife left stabbing through a piece of paper on the mattress. It was an Aethelgard corporate contract, signed in fresh ink.
Tomás had flipped again. The ambition Marcus had programmed into him had won.
Daniel sprinted back toward the nursery, his heart hammering against his ribs. He burst through the heavy steel door, but he was too late. Standing by the crib, her winter coat covered in frost, her weapon pointed directly at his chest, was Clara.

Behind her stood Tomás, his face cold, flanked by four heavily armed operatives.
"Don't do this, Daniel," Clara said, her voice shaking despite the weapon in her hand. "The stabilization serum we cloned is mutating. The independent lab lied to you. It’s only a temporary patch. If Alejandro doesn't enter the main Lazarus chamber in Geneva within forty-eight hours, his neural pathways will permanently collapse. He will die."
